I understand people trivializing New Years Resolutions. After all, we rarely stick to them do we? But when we do they are as life changing as we had anticipated when we made them. Example, 6 years ago I resolved to reading the bible, three chapters a day, every day first thing in the morning. Pray and read the word. I read more of it throughout the day, but I do read those three chapters a day. I've stuck to other resolutions, but that one was the most life changing, particularly at a time when my life turned upside down. I'm not smart enough to figure this out by myself. Pastor Pat served this up on a nugget in a sermon and I set the resolution. I believe God used Pastor Pat as a vehicle to speak directly to me. Of course it was meant for all in attendance but my ego takes over sometimes (yet another thing to work on). So set those resolutions. Write them down. Do your best to follow them and if you fail make them again the following year. You dont have to wait until New Years to try and change but it is an auspicious occasion so be bold! Shoot for the stars!
