The Hitchcock Experience 100, 50, and 13.1 Mile Endurance Runs 100 and 50 mile trail races through the scenic bluffs of Hitchcock Nature Center near Honeycreek, IA Corn fields. Flat. Welcome to the Hitchcock Experience.

Start a conversation with anybody on their impression of the landscape in Iowa/Nebraska and these are the two most likely things you'll hear. We're going to change your view of what an Iowa race looks like! Located just outside of Council Bluffs, the Hitchcock Nature Center will be host to the first running of what we hope will be a continuing part of your "must run" Ultras in the future. The G.O.

A.T.z have partnered with the Pottawattamie County Conservation Board and Hitchcock Nature Center to bring you a challenging and scenic course through the hills and bluffs of the area Lewis & Clark and early settlers named "Council Bluffs". The course will consist of single track to fire road size trail, and a small amount of maintenance road all running through the trees and along the ridges of Hitchcock Nature Center. And although not rocky/technical, you may find yourself wondering "How did all these hills get to Iowa?".

Hitchcock 2026 will be December 5-6th and we are locked in with the park! We'll let you know when registration is open, but it will more than likely be close to the end of the month.

As we wrap up another awesome year at Hitch, I want to take this opportunity to give a shout out to all of the awesome volunteers and partners that make this race what it is. What started out as the park simply taking a chance on letting us have a race has turned into a great partnership with people we now call friends over the last 11 years. The same can be said of the NSP, who I look forward to spending time with every year.

And special thanks to all of you who volunteer to make this a race that people love and want to come back to. It can't be overstated how important it is to have group of people who dedicate their time and expertise to help runners achieve their goals and I'm thankful that so many of you are there for the runners, the GOATz and me personally. You all show over and over again what it is to be part of a community. THANK YOU.

Congrats to our winners and EVERYONE who participated at Hitch this year! We love seeing you out there giving it your all and try our best to help you succeed. Sometimes the race doesn’t go our way, but we hope the overall experience was great for you! The trail community is awesome and something we work hard to promote.

It’s been a week….guess we better start preparing for next year!
