29 Years of Family, Focus, and Tang Soo Do. 🥋✨

On May 19th, 1997, we opened the doors to Brandywine Martial Arts Academy for the very first time.

Today, we celebrate 29 years of training martial artists in our community.

When we started nearly three decades ago, our goal wasn't just to teach people how to punch and kick. We wanted to build a sanctuary where families could grow together, where integrity was the baseline, and where perseverance was forged through hard work and indomitable spirit.

To every student who has ever stepped onto our mats, every parent who has cheered from the sidelines, and every Black Belt who has helped pass the torch to the next generation: Thank you. You are the heartbeat of this studio.

We are so proud of our history, but we are even more excited for the future. Here’s to 29 years of excellence—with more to come!

Huge congratulations to all the students who stepped onto the mats for today’s regional black belt testing!

The journey to black belt is one of discipline, grit, and years of dedication. Seeing our candidates pour their hearts into every strike, kick, form, and break today was nothing short of inspiring.

A massive shout-out to the entire Brandywine Martial Arts family for coming out in full force. The energy and support from the sidelines truly showed what this community is all about. You made sure our candidates weren’t just testing for themselves, but for the whole team.

To our testers: Wear that success with pride. You earned it.

The World Tang Soo Do Association honors the incredible legacy of Chuck Norris. Our founder, Grandmaster Jae C. Shin, was proud to be his original teacher at Osan Air Base in Korea, where he earned his Cho Dan #2819 in March 1961.

We are honored that he remains an eternal part of our history. Our thoughts are with his family and the entire martial arts community as we mourn the loss of a pioneer, a student of our Grandmaster, and a friend to all. Tang Soo!
