The HOSA-Future Health Professionals have chosen a community service project this year that means a lot to their advisor, Mrs. Park. Her son suffers from a rare genetic disease called Lesch Nyhan Syndrome, so they have chosen to raise awareness for rare diseases by hosting a Turkey Trot this Sunday at the Track Complex. All proceeds raised will go directly to The Orphan Disease Center located at the University of Pennsylvania. The Orphan Disease Center researches different treatment options and cures for rare diseases, including Lesch Nyhan Syndrome. So, put on those running shoes and come out this Sunday to run or walk for this AMAZING cause!! It is $12/runner and every dollar made goes right to the Orphan Disease Center to assist them in their research. Registration starts at 10am. The race starts at 11am. There will be food and drinks available for purchase as well as a bake sale. Medals will be given to the top three runners in 3 different age groups. Feel free to dress in your craziest turkey costume. A $25 Dunkin Donuts gift card will be given to the winner of the "Best Dressed Turkey". We hope to see you there!
