Hi, all... this is Frank, Captain Dallas’ son. We have been made aware of a fake page trying to message people using my dad’s name and image. They are hackers from Nigeria, and they are trying to steal your data.

Below is a screen shot of what the message looks like. Again, please do not reply to the message request.

In the coming days, I will change the name and photo of this memorial page, so it will easier to spot the fakes.

Sorry for any trouble... this is definitely not how we want to remember Dad.

Join us as we celebrate the life of Captain Dallas, who passed away peacefully early this morning.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the community he called home.

We will keep this page open as a tribute to a man who enjoyed life to its fullest, out on the open water. He was a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Obituary for Mr. Dallas Willis
A "Celebration of Life" service for Mr. Dallas Glenn Willis, age 69, of Homosassa, Florida, will be held 4:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Suncoast Baptist Church, Homosassa, FL. The family will receive friends from 3:00pm until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial donations to We Care Food Pantry, 5530 S. Mason Creek Rd., Homosassa, 34448, (352) 228-4921. Dallas was born December 30, 1946 in Lakeland, FL, son of Frank and Jessie (Wilbanks) Willis. He died August 10, 2016 in Crystal River, FL. Mr. Willis was an Air Force veteran who was in the military police. He was stationed in Germany and the United States during the Vietnam conflict and had the privilege to sit, talk and dine with three different presidents.

Earlier in Dallas's life, he was a star baseball player in high school and was even a "bat boy" for the Detroit Tigers during spring training. As an adult, he subcontracted as a Telephone Cable Splicer for over 35 years, taking him all over the U.S. and its territories. Mr. Willis moved to Homosassa in 1997, and for the past 14 years, he pursued a lifelong dream career as a USCG licensed Captain and Fishing Guide. Dallas was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fairbanks, Alaska. According to his family, Mr. Willis preferred the outdoors and loved sports, golf in particular. He was fun-loving, humorous, but also a very sweet, kind-hearted and honorable man who never met a stranger. Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by loving wife : Karen Grace Willis of Homosassa, FL, son, Frank (Cari) Willis of Orlando, FL, daughter, Regina (Adam) Ross-Schmid of Ft. Meade, MD, brother, Milton "Buddy" Willis, GA, sister, Joyce (Tom) Sigman of Homosassa, FL, 4 grandchildren, Kathryn, Elizabeth, Alex, Daniel, 7 great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory.
