This weekend, I completed a two-year Ayurvedic Health Counselor program. Ayurveda, often called the sister science of yoga, is a holistic system of health that teaches us how to live in greater balance with ourselves and the world around us.
While I learned an incredible amount about wellness, digestion, herbs, and lifestyle practices, one of the greatest lessons came through svadhyaya, the yogic practice of self-study. The program challenged me in ways I never expected and taught me just as much about myself as it did about Ayurveda.
What made this accomplishment meaningful wasn't reaching the finish line. It was discovering what I was capable of along the way.
Reaching the end of this chapter reminded me of something I often say in the studio: We can do hard things.
This week, choose one thing that feels difficult or daunting and take a step toward it. Not because you are guaranteed success, but because you may discover that you are capable of more than you think.
What might you discover about yourself if you took the first step toward something that feels challenging?
