The Homewood High School boys and girls tennis teams competed on the highest stage earlier this week, as each played in the Class 6A state tournament at the Mobile Tennis Center.
Homewood’s boys performed admirably, finishing third behind Mountain Brook and Jasper, accumulating 36 points overall.

And that’s a wrap to the 2025 season! Congratulations to both the boys and girls teams and their hard work through the season, and how they represented at this year’s AHSAA 6A State Tournament.

The boys team finished 3rd out of the top 16 teams in class 6A, while the girls finished 8th.

Homewood had 4 athletes play in championship finals and finish as state runner ups. The Homewood boys also has all 3 doubles teams make it to the 2 day of competition competing in the semifinals of the 6A State tournament.

#4 Boys Singles Finalist- Ford Haines
#2 Girls Singles Finalist- Vivi Evans

#2 Boys Doubles Semifinalist- Winston Jones & Ford Haines

The Homewood Girls team also received the 2025 Class 6A Sportsmanship Award!

The Homewood boys tennis team is your 2025 6A Section 5 Runner Ups. The boys had athletes competing in all of the 9 Finals contested at sectionals. Something that hasn’t happened in the last 10+ years. They have qualified for the 6A State Tennis Tournament in Mobile! Congratulations fellas!

The Homewood boys and girls varsity teams defeated Helena High School 6-3. They will be back in action tomorrow at Briarwood.

The Homewood High School Tennis Teams had a successful day in Decatur. With a limited rosters, both the boys and girls team still finished 4th in the Decatur High School Tennis Invitational Tournament.
