When I first started racing, if anyone had told me in just five years Mazda Motorsports would nominate me for their Spec MX-5 Shootout, I wouldn’t have believed them. Yet here we are!

I’m honored to be amongst some of the best grassroots racers in the country and have a chance at something that has launched so many careers.

I can’t thank everyone who has helped me get here enough. From Coyote Racing Chassis and Precision Performance Karting - Palmetto, Fl for brining me to the next level in karting to RARE SPEC MOTORSPORTS for all the support we’ve gotten in our short time Spec Miata racing. Of course my parents Greg Thek and Yvette Martinez Thek for always supporting me and everyone else who has jumped in along the way!

Pumped to have this opportunity yet again and thank you to the whole Mazda Motorsports (USA) crew for their consideration. Now it’s time to get to work!

Runner up at Grand Nationals X🥈

Went in looking for the big win, and even though we didn’t quite get it done, I couldn’t be happier. We had one of the fastest karts out of the gate and qualified near the front of the 89 in Light and 102 in Medium.

Ran strong in the heats and led in most of them, lining me up well for Sunday in both classes.

The features were both some of the craziest races in my career. In light I didn’t put my positioning together well enough, putting me p11 at the line. Medium was looking to be even worse, from getting driven through and mowing some grass a few times to charging back through and having to do it what seemed like over and over again. I kept my head down and was p13 with 3 to go and drove up to a p3, ending with a p2 when it was all said and done.

Thank you to Precision Performance Karting - Palmetto, Fl and Coyote Racing Chassis for all the support and Christopher McKeithan for being a great leader and mentor. Also thank you to lawsonspeedshop for the power and James Overbeck and Pauly Massimino for the coaching. Congratulations to my teammate Aidan Lourenco on the podium, it was great to share it with you and what a drive, and congratulations to Brady Schad on your W’s, it’s great to see a Coyote on top!

Until next year, I’m hungry for it!

It’s time.

Biggest kart race of the year this weekend. Can’t wait to be back with the Precision Performance Karting - Palmetto, Fl Coyote Racing Chassis crew to try to get another National Championship, this time at the Cup Karts North America Grand National X.

What a weekend it was for the FARA USA Homestead 250!

My #52 RARE SPEC MOTORSPORTS Spec Miata was on rails from the beginning. We were super fast during Friday practice and set the pole in both qualifying sessions Saturday. To close off Saturday it was a close race but we had a ton of pace and in a last lap pass took the shootout win. Sunday I made a few mistakes in the long run races but took home two p2’s while being in the battle for the win all day long.

Overall I have no words on how fast we’ve become so fast. Time to clean up the little things and soon get up there with the best of the best. I’m super grateful for the opportunity to do this and can’t thank RareSpec Motorsports, MK Aviation, my parents, and everyone else involved enough.

Now we hunt for a National Championship at the Cup Karts North America Grand Nationals X.

Unloaded and went fast today at the FARA USA Homestead 250!

Super happy to be back in the RARE SPEC MOTORSPORTS Spec Miata machine here at my home track again! Come out to Homestead-Miami Speedway this Saturday and Sunday to watch some great racing action. Pm me for the schedule and more info!

It’s been a great year so far!

Took some big wins and a lot of podiums! Pretty soon I get to run again for two pretty big weekends in a row. First we’re heading back to Homestead with RARE SPEC MOTORSPORTS for the FARA USA Homestead 250 to continue the Spec Miata momentum from the summer! The weekend after we head out to Indiana for the biggest kart race in the world, the Cup Karts North America Grand Nationals 10 looking to back up the Spring Nats win we got with Precision Performance Karting - Palmetto, Fl and Coyote Racing Chassis . Can’t wait to be back with my track families and continue to improve and try to get it done!

Happy birthday to the best little brother ever! Jacob, you’re super funny, super nice to everyone (except me sometimes), and you’re going to be just as good as Kyle Larson and Carson Hocevar when you get older. I love you a ton buddy, keep being awesome!
