This picture hits hard during these times. This was me zeroing my newly assigned weapon the day I got to Qalat, Afghanistan and got assigned to 3rd Platoon, Aco, 3/75 (The Fittest platoon led by The Real Captain America). This was right after graduating Ranger school after burying Mom. Inside I was so scared, full of fear and honestly just wanted to be with my Mother. My mind and body were already so broken down from previously attending infantry school, airborne school, RIP, SURT, the funeral, than back to winter class Ranger School, and finally making it to 75th as an insert. It was liking drinking warm salty water from a firehose with kerosine mixed in. I was expected to show up hungry, hardened and Ready for extreme precise violence of action. The last thing I could choose to be was sorry for myself while missing my Mom. This was a time that required vision, focus , tension, relaxation, deep breathing, precision and ex*****on. Not a time for feelings. When we are emotional we can not be logical. Keep your sights on your true desires. Stay focused. Stay strong. Stay patient.

Broccoli shooters!
