Kites are fascinating objects that can take flight due to the principles of aerodynamics. The key is the balance of forces acting upon the kite: lift, drag, gravity, and tension.

Firstly, a kite needs wind to generate lift. When wind flows over the surface of the kite, it creates a difference in pressure between the front and the back of the kite. The increased pressure on the underside and the reduced pressure on the top side result in an upward force, known as lift.

Gravity, on the other hand, pulls the kite downwards. The balance between lift and gravity determines the vertical position of the kite. Drag is the resistance caused by the air as the kite moves through it, which slows down the kite's flight.

Anytime I see people making the world a better place with the help of a kite I think it deserves a mention. Kites really epitomise the concept of the sky is the limit. Their vivid clearly visible colors and the relationship between being in control one minute but not the next makes them the perfect reality check.

Check these winners out, they scooped up some cash whilst they swooped high in the sky. This is one of those ideas that can be adapted and replicated around the globe.

When you fly a kite do you ever wonder who else got to see it and pointed it out to someone else. I keep my eye out for Kite flyers where ever I can find them, what interests me the most is what I learn as a result.

Until about 5 minutes ago my lifes path, had not lead me to believe that there was a place called Okotoks in Alberta Canada and if it wasn't for the fact that they thought flying kites would be a good way to get their community together I would have passed them by instead now I am mad googling them to see else they have to share.

Of course it does help of you believe that the seemingly random minor events that reach out and touch you should not be completely ignored. This I believe is what people mean by taking the time in life to stop and look around you once in a while.

So what do we all think to the UK (Brexit) telling Europe to Go Fly a Kite today. It looks to me like 2016 is going to be a very colorful year with a significant amount of fluttering in the wind, steep dives and hopefully a sharp return back to the highest heights and not a ditch in the ocean. I sense that a lot of people are looking to the heavens for the answers, I can't think of a better way to focus that energy than flying a kite this weekend.
