Inspired by the Community-Based boxing gyms Jose “Flaco” Perez frequented while growing up in Brooklyn. Flaco’s Community Gym boasts no smoke and mirrors or fancy equipment. A gym that focuses on family and an opportunity to transform lives instead of the bottom line. Where anyone regardless of race, gender, or social class can feel welcome. We are a community gym because we support the community

and the community supports us. Whether it’s underprivileged youth looking for a place to fit in, a single mom working out with her kids, or a corporate CEO learning boxing basics. Our approach is simple, we’re here to help you set your goals and surpass them. Ask for Flaco and take a look around. We won’t pressure you into any crazy contracts.

Boxing isn't just something 𝘐 𝘥𝘰.
It's something that helped 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦.

I've worn a lot of hats in my lifetime. I've walked different paths, built different careers, and learned lessons the hard way.

But God kept bringing me back here.

To boxing.

To coaching

To serving others through this sport.

This isn't about fame. This isn't about fortune. This isn't about being the toughest guy in the room. It's about love.

It's about caring enough to show up every day and pour into another human being.

To teach. To guide. To believe in someone before they believe in themselves.

That's what this gym is built on.

People think greatness comes from talent, knowledge, or accomplishments.

Maybe that's part of it.

But what makes me great is that I genuinely care.

I love this sport.

And I love sharing it with others.

We were honored to have such an incredible team of officials who traveled from all across the country — Denver, South Carolina, Minneapolis, Baltimore, Georgia, Florida, Gold Coast, and North Florida — all coming together with one shared purpose: to elevate the sport and serve the athletes.

What they brought wasn’t just your presence — it was your professionalism, your experience, and your standard. And because of that, the entire event felt bigger… sharper… important. The kind of atmosphere our boxers deserve.

A special thank you to 𝗡𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹 (𝗢𝗜𝗖) — you carried this show on your shoulders. Your thoroughness and attention to detail set the tone from start to finish. I had multiple people tell me the event felt like a national tournament, not a local one — that doesn’t happen by accident. Even something as intentional as having 5 judges spoke volumes about the level we’re striving for. That standard starts with you.

To 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹 — your touch at the table did not go unnoticed. The way you handled the administrative side with precision and presence created a moment for every boxer walking in. There was a certain energy, almost a mystique, that made them feel like they were stepping into something serious. That matters more than people realize.

And to 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹 — my friend, my mentor… thank you for always showing up. Your guidance, your leadership, and the example you set continue to shape not just me but the direction of this event. Having you there meant a lot.
