I had some repeat clients on board yesterday who wanted to go after cobia. And cobia they got. Had double digit bites all before 1130, most fish were 39-41 inches, which still put up a great fight on light tackle. We did manage one for the box to bring home. Pull the hook and went looking for other fish but the weather had other plans. So we headed to the barn and called it a day. I still have open dates to get on some prime cobia and bull red fishing.

Well we didn’t get much of a chance to look for reds or anything else today after cobia fishing, but man was it a good morning for cobia. Stuck 4 fish by 845 this morning including this nice 51 incher. Weather man was not completely on today but we made the best of it. Pulled the hook around 9 and headed for the barn. I must say, I’ve had a lot of boats, but nothing compares to the 2900 Hydra Sports I have now!!! We ran down the bay at 30 knots and back up the bay at a comfortable 20 knot cruise in a 3 ft slop.

Dates still available to get out on some cobia and reds.

We will also start the fall striped bass fishing in a couple months as well.

I have about 30 different molds from perch jigs to sheepshead jigs, banana jigs, bullet heads, shad jigs, big eye jigs. Most from 1/8 ounce to 3 ounce. Along with over 30 different paint options. What do you do when you have a day off and decide you want a Smith Island cake……you jump on the boat and go to the place where it all started. Smith Island of course!!! Turned into a beautiful day with my wife, two of my kids and my sister. Had some lunch, soft crab bites for me, they were good, then off to the bakery. Some scenic routes and back across the bay.

We still offer private Smith Island cruises if anyone is interested. You don’t have to be on the clock of the tour boats. 240-538-5180.
