Southeastern Michigan Ski League About Us
SEMSL was founded in 1974 as a league to promote and unite the Southeastern Region of Michigan in the sport of High School Ski Racing.

SEMSL began in 1974 to organize and support high‑school ski racing in Southeast Michigan, creating fair, safe, and consistent competition while helping student‑athletes grow, improve, and advance toward conference and state events. The goal of the league is to continue to grow and support the sport of ski racing in our area. We are a voluntary group of coaches from area schools and we strive to pu

t on extraordinary races that showcase some of the best ski racers in Southeastern Michigan and the State of Michigan. We host 3 events every year: the Don Thomas JV Cup, SEMSL League Championship, and the Cuthy Cup Middle School Challenge. Our board is dedicated to the sport of ski racing and to the league. πŸ† 2026 SEMSL Coaches Cup Recap – A Brand New Tradition is Here! πŸ†

After putting in countless hours all season long getting athletes race-ready, the SEMSL coaches capped off an amazing year with their very own end-of-season celebration.

The inaugural 2026 SEMSL Coaches Cup! Held March 3rd at Alpine Valley, this friendly competition brought together coaches from all four SEMSL hills (Alpine Valley, Mt. Brighton, Pine K**b & Mt. Holly) for slalom, giant slalom, and overall racing.

Huge congratulations to Alpine Valley for hosting a fantastic event and fielding such a strong group of their own coaches! And a big thank-you to everyone from Mt. Brighton, Pine K**b, and Mt. Holly who came out to race and celebrate the season together. Here’s hoping the Coaches Cup becomes an annual tradition that keeps growing!

Congratulations Maren! What an incredible performance.

Congratulations to Notre Dame Prep senior Maren Studt on an incredible performance yesterday at the MHSAA ski finals at Schuss Mountain.

Studt capped her high school career in dominant fashion, successfully defending her Division 2 state championships in both slalom and giant slalom for the second straight season. With a giant slalom winning time of 48.27 seconds and a slalom win in the combined time of :66.92, she completed a rare β€œdouble-double,” winning both events as a junior and again as a senior.

From overcoming a serious injury earlier in her career to finishing as a five-time state champion, Maren’s hard work, perseverance and talent helped define a truly memorable finish to an outstanding high school career.
