Java Man Archery Custom Traditional Long Bows Handcrafted by Gregg Coffey Java Man Archery began in 1994 when I made my first bow from an ash stave, cut on my Dad’s farm.

For many years I made selfbows from ash, hickory, osage and yew, as well as backed wood bows using bamboo and hickory. I made a wide variety of bow designs including historical recreations from several eras ranging from ancient designs to more recent designs like the Wilcox Duoflex. Pushing the limits of wood along the way. Always curious about bow making design and materials, I began experimentin

g with fiberglass bows. In 2003 I began making the Shrew line of bows. I innovated and introduced several bow designs to the Shrew line, while continuing to offer the new Java Man line of fiberglass bows. The bows on the following pages represent many years of curiosity, experimentation and innovation in bow design. As an engineer by profession I continually fine tune my designs, while always aiming for the most efficient and beautiful bows that can be made. In the ever expanding Java Man line you will find an impressive selection of cutting edge bow designs including several reflex deflex longbows as well as recurves. My bow designs will always reflect the most essential design elements that the hunting archer dreams of; a quiet, highly accurate, highly maneuverable bow that will instill confidence and be a pleasure to behold.
