If you know Ethos, you know Heather 🤍
She is truly the heart and soul of our studio; the matriarch of Ethos and our longest-standing teacher. For so many of us, Heather is woven into the very fabric of this community. Her presence, wisdom, humor, and deep love for yoga have shaped Ethos in ways that are impossible to measure.
Ethos simply wouldn’t be Ethos without Heather.
We are so, so grateful for her.
FUN FACTS 🤍
♡ What I'd like students to know: Begin where you are. Just begin. "Practice, and all is coming." The "all is coming" isn't perfection, or peak poses, but a steadiness of both mind and body that is invaluable.
♡ What students may be surprised to learn about me: I was married at 19 and my oldest son is 27, I live on 17 acres in a dome house with a giant garden, I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Economics
♡ My morning routine: early morning sunlight is a non-negotiable for me at this point in my life. I'm up, get some water, get my dog, and heading out for a walk first thing, almost every single day, even if it's just 15 minutes. Then, I have my coffee, always with half and half, and I proceed with my day. Everything else is negotiable.
♡ Favorite yoga quote: T.S. Eliot: "We shall not cease from our exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time."
POSE OF THE MONTH!
Each month, one of our teachers will choose a Pose of the Month; a shape that you’ll see explored, broken down, and woven into classes throughout the month.
And because every pose is taught through a different lens, our Teacher of the Month will bring their own unique perspective, knowledge, and approach to the practice. This month Heather has chosen:
Kneeling Lunge — Anjaneyasana
A low, grounded lunge that can be adapted to stretch, strengthen, ground, and improve single-leg balance.
