If you don't know Erin, you should! Myofascial release is one of the modalities offered here at Ethos. She's been part of our community for many years & we are so grateful for her kind heart and healing hands!

"Hi, I'm Erin!

I'm a Myofascial Release Therapist and the owner of Healing Sunrise Myofascial Release. I help people reduce pain, move more freely, and get back to doing the things they love through gentle, hands-on myofascial release therapy.

When I’m not helping people feel their best, you can find me outside soaking up the sunshine, enjoying classes at Ethos, getting lost in a good rom-com book, or planning out my next travel adventure. I'm always looking for my next trip!

I’m so grateful to be part of the Ethos community and to have my treatment space here. If you’ve been curious about Myofascial Release or wondering if it’s right for you, I’d love to meet you."

Traditional Mat Pilates is often misunderstood as just another core workout, but it is actually a century-old movement system originally called Contrology. Developed by Joseph Pilates, it relies on a specific sequence of exercises designed to build uniform strength, alignment, and deep stability.

In a traditional mat practice, your body is the machine. Without the springs or straps of a Reformer to assist you, your deep stabilizing muscles must do all the work against gravity. The focus rests entirely on the powerhouse—the core engine of the body running from the base of your ribs to the bottom of your pelvis. Instead of high repetitions or moving to failure, the goal is absolute control and precision. We practice a small number of deliberate repetitions, matching each phase of the movement to the breath to support the spine.

It is a challenging but accessible practice that teaches you how to move with efficiency and grace both on and off the mat.

You move through hard seasons.
You get stronger.
You breathe a little deeper.
You meet people who become friends.
You remember things about yourself you forgot along the way.

It’s not about doing yoga perfectly. It’s about having a place to come back to, again and again.

Come as you are. ♡

If you know Ethos, you know Heather 🤍
She is truly the heart and soul of our studio; the matriarch of Ethos and our longest-standing teacher. For so many of us, Heather is woven into the very fabric of this community. Her presence, wisdom, humor, and deep love for yoga have shaped Ethos in ways that are impossible to measure.
Ethos simply wouldn’t be Ethos without Heather.
We are so, so grateful for her.

FUN FACTS 🤍

♡ What I'd like students to know: Begin where you are. Just begin. "Practice, and all is coming." The "all is coming" isn't perfection, or peak poses, but a steadiness of both mind and body that is invaluable.
♡ What students may be surprised to learn about me: I was married at 19 and my oldest son is 27, I live on 17 acres in a dome house with a giant garden, I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Economics
♡ My morning routine: early morning sunlight is a non-negotiable for me at this point in my life. I'm up, get some water, get my dog, and heading out for a walk first thing, almost every single day, even if it's just 15 minutes. Then, I have my coffee, always with half and half, and I proceed with my day. Everything else is negotiable.
♡ Favorite yoga quote: T.S. Eliot: "We shall not cease from our exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time."

POSE OF THE MONTH!
Each month, one of our teachers will choose a Pose of the Month; a shape that you’ll see explored, broken down, and woven into classes throughout the month.
And because every pose is taught through a different lens, our Teacher of the Month will bring their own unique perspective, knowledge, and approach to the practice. This month Heather has chosen:

Kneeling Lunge — Anjaneyasana
A low, grounded lunge that can be adapted to stretch, strengthen, ground, and improve single-leg balance.
