There are 6 primary parts to the Jerk:

*Half Squat

*Bump

*Under Squat

*Stand to lockout

*Fixation

*Drop to Rack

Due to the complexity of the jerk, especially when first learning, it's valuable to train any of the above in isolation as a technique drill/legit conditioning.

Below is a video of Mitch from 2010 demonstrating the bump. We would add this in at the end of a jerk training session as a finisher. Example - 32kg's x 50 to 100 reps.

Mitch demonstrates this great assistance drill for the jerk. Fantastic stand alone exercises as well.
