Derek Davis was a husband, a father of four, a devoted man of faith, an incredible runner and a wonderful person with a generous heart possessed by few in this world. Tragically, Derek left this world on April 27, 2015 from injuries sustained after being hit by a car while on an early morning run with his wife, Amanda. However, his story doesn’t end there. On April 30, 2015, Derek inspired hundred

s of people (most of whom did not know him) to complete a tribute run to the site of the accident. It was there the runners dropped flowers, shoes, shirts, pictures and signs to honor Derek’s spirit. The Derek Davis Memorial 5k Run was born from the energy and atmosphere of that evening. Join us on August 19, 2017 at 7am for our 3rd annual Derek Davis Memorial 5k. It's a run unlike any other. All proceeds from this race will help fund the Derek Davis Memorial Fund. The DDMF will provide college scholarships for high school cross country runners. Derek is undoubtedly proud that his legacy will help others achieve their life goals.
