⚠️ IMPORTANT PATIENT NOTICE: Measles Precautions ⚠️
The safety of our patients, families, and staff is our top priority. Because measles is highly contagious and spreads easily through the air, we are asking for your cooperation.
If you suspect your child has measles OR if they have been exposed to someone with measles, please DO NOT enter our building.
Instead, please CALL US FIRST at 919- 249-4700.
Why call ahead?
Prevent Spread: Measles can stay in the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves a room. We will provide specific instructions for your arrival, which may include using a dedicated entrance or meeting you to provide a mask before you enter.
Immediate Isolation: Calling ahead allows us to prepare a private room or an airborne isolation area to keep other vulnerable patients safe.
Common Symptoms to Watch For:
High fever
Cough, runny nose, or red/watery eyes
A blotchy red rash that usually starts on the face and spreads downward
