Labor Day BJJ schedule is a normal schedule folks. Tots at 4pm, kids at 5pm, and Adults at 6pm. The only difference is classes will be a QA format/Open mat. I’ll answer any questions, review techniques we’ve covered to refresh details for those that need it, etc. then get a lot of rounds in.

Everyone is off work today so it’s a perfect time to bring your kids in or, if you’re an adult that’s been wanting to try it, to stop in and see what we do.

This is open to all gyms for anyone whose gym is closed for the day. I like cross training and seeing new faces so feel free to stop by and put in some work with us. I hope to see everyone there!

Some kids leveled up Thursday😮‍💨. I try to explain to my kids how stripes and belts really don’t matter. But at the same time getting ranked at my gym will be VERY difficult. All these kids have been consistent for several months. And they got their first stripe Thursday. I’m very proud of their progress. There are no handouts here. You work, you put your head down, and like I told my kids.. if you’re going to p*e like a puppy stay on the porch because we are all going to be dogs over here.😮‍💨 I love these kids and my life getting to coach every day.

Back control, grip details, basic straight jacket series, creating dilemmas to make your opponent chose between being bellied out or giving you the RNC. There are multiple hand and arm trapping series from the back, but this will cover a basic back attack series for beginners to up their submission rate.

Guard recovery from chest to chest bottom half guard.

Don’t get stuck on bottom. Our curriculum for the next few weeks is finding under hooks everywhere and wrestling up and getting out of bad positions. This has been one of my go to guard recoveries since white belt and it’s fun to see it passed down to the kiddos drilling it out.
