Lakeshore Roller Derby

Lakeshore Roller Derby Lakeshore Roller Derby is a flat track roller derby league based in Holland, MI, following the WFTDA The cost of running a business is high.

The Lakeshore Roller Derby is a 501 (c) (3) volunteer run non-profit. Our league is run by skaters, who contribute their free time and talents to manage the business side of the league — everything from organizing fundraising events to designing promotional materials. Lakeshore Roller Derby also maintain a strong sense of pride in our community by partnering with local charities and participating

in local events. Our league’s vision is to promote athleticism, diversity and roller derby, and foster self-worth, personal strength, empowerment, and inclusion. Our Mission: Lakeshore Roller Derby is committed to promoting athleticism, the physical and mental strength of its members and associates, and the independence of its athletes. The people who make up the league come from all walks of life– they are engineers, architects, lawyers, teachers, nurses, writers, artists, librarians and work-at-home moms. They came to this sport as novice and experienced skaters, as seasoned athletes and as former couch potatoes. But they all have one thing in common– they are strong, fierce competitive athletes who are passionate about the sport of roller derby. Lakeshore Roller Derby is growing quickly, with no salaried employees. The league will make revenue from ticket sales, merch sales, sponsorship contributions, and donations from supporters, and it all goes right back into the league. The cost of renting practice space add up quickly. Then add game venue rentals, security, insurance, legal fees and other operational costs. As a 501 (c) 3 non-profit charity, we rely heavily on contributions from the public as well as sponsors. Your tax-deductible donation helps us towards our mission of spreading the flat-track love at home and across the nation. Donations go towards helping teams travel for interstate games, conducting flat track derby boot camps, maintaining daily operating expenses, insuring our skaters, and ultimately will enable Lakeshore Roller Derby to work toward our own venue. Your donation, no matter what the size, will make a difference!
