It has been great coaching Landon and Mason Carroll and seeing their impressive improvement in both pickleball and tennis. Landon’s pickleball game has reached a new level, allowing him to successfully compete with 4.0+ adult players. In tennis, Mason’s serves and groundstrokes have become notably more consistent and confident, and his pickleball skills have grown to the point where he can challenge his dad and brother. It is fantastic to watch these two athletes develop, and their progress is a direct reflection of their family’s incredible support. Their dedicated parents and grandparents are instrumental in their journey, and it’s a powerful reminder that my most successful and improved students are those with families actively engaged in their athletic development.

This was another successful summer weekend doing a private clinic for this awesome friend group from Indianapolis. Last year, they were looking for a fun activity while visiting West Michigan, so they booked a private pickleball clinic over the weekend with me. They had such a great time and learned so much that they came back with even more friends this year.

Ending the summer strong and starting September on the court with great company. As a coach, I’ve learned that the best progress often comes from building a good relationship. When there’s trust and a genuine connection, the lessons click, and the improvements come naturally.

Coaching the Park Township Intermediate to Advanced Pickleball Clinics this summer was a pleasure. I truly enjoyed helping players improve their game and take it to the next level. I am excited to announce that I will be coaching more intermediate clinics through Park Township Pickleball, starting Monday, September 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Mingwen, also known as Davy and Jeff are neighbors who became great friends during Covid. They started to play tennis together to get outside. At first, rallies were short, but after lessons, their rallies are longer and they're having much more fun keeping the conversations(rallies)going. Love thy neighbor, I barely know some of my neighbors so the fact that these two neighbors are great friends and playing tennis together is pretty darn cool. Knock on the door of your neighbor and ask them to play a racket sport. Got to love Mister Rogers, but lately every time I hear this song, I think of Daniel Tiger haha my daughter's favorite cartoon lately.

It's been great getting on the courts this summer with Kathy and Jim from South Haven! They asked if they could bring their dogs, and I was reluctant at first because I had a lesson in the past that was disrupted due to what you would imagine, the dogs chasing after balls, but Charlie and Cooper were awesome! At the end of the lesson, some ladies came up to us and commended them for their solid behavior. Crazy that out of all the dog names out there two great friends of mine have a Charley and a Cooper, another coincidence!
