Our bat boy (my grandson Axel) for the Dusters high school team was pretty tired today. We lost 11-1 to a senior heavy Wayne baseball team. Put this behind us and move forward, keep working hard.

Holdrege beats Maxwell North Platte Saint Pats 12 to 5 and Adam Central comes to Holdrege and wins 9 to 4 over the dusters on Thursday. Monday we travel to York to meet Wayne halfway. Trying to gain momentum as we are almost 1/2 way through the season.

It was quite the week of Baseball For the Dusters. We had a doubleheader on Tuesday beating Palmyra 10-3 and leading the top five team of Adam Central 3-0 going into the sixth inning only to lose it in the seventh 4 to 3. Then on Thursday, we travel to Fairbury and got a 9- 5 win in the varsity and an 8-2 victory in the junior varsity. 
Friday we faced the #1 Central City leading that game 7 to 6 going into the top of the seventh here in Holdrege. We got two outs in the top of the seventh walked a batter and they’re next to hitters hit doubles over our outfielders heads and went ahead 8 to 7. We were unable to score in the bottom of the seventh losing 8 to 7. We are finding an identity with this young group of Baseball players. Tuesday we go to North Platte and play a doubleheader against Maxwell Saint Pats. 
We have a record of 3 wins and 4 losses with the four losses coming against rated teams.

Holdrege high school baseball coming together with a very young team. Battled and lead a top 5 team in the state the whole game, until the last inning. We need to build from here and not look back at where we started. Great games Duster baseball!!

Today’s ceremonial first pitch is being thrown out by Major Alex Jones. Alex played Legion Baseball from 2006 to 2010 and was a member of the 2010 3rd place team. He was one of the four F-22’s That flew over the White House on July 4th. Thank you for your service and we are very proud of you!!!

Holdrege is hosting the area six Junior Legion Baseball tournament this weekend. There are seven teams in the bracket. Holdrege is the number one seed, McCook, Broken Bow, Gibbon, Shelton, Minden, alliance and Gothenburg.
