Holdingford Trailhead of Lake Wobegon Trail Holdingford has one of the most unique trailheads on the trail. They have a covered picnic area with bathrooms.

There is a freight railroad car with scenes of Holdingford painted ont he side commemorating the history of the community. In 2009 they added miniature wooden trail with an engine and two rail cars for kids to play "railroad." Holdingford has the longest coverd bridge in Minnesota reminicent of the Bridges of Madison County.

We are in need of additional active board members to help manage the Lake Wobegon Trails Association. I have been involved with the association since the early 2000s and plan to retire by November 15th, 2024.

We are a great organization! The organization’s mission is to promote the Lake Wobegon Trails, the communities and businesses along the trails and to support Stearns County Parks in their efforts to maintain and improve the trails.

We have 3 successful events that have been around for a long time. The Caramel Roll Ride has been around for 25 years, and the Lady Slipper Nature Ride and the Caramel Apple Rides have been around for 13 years each. Please check it out and see how you can be a part of the trails association.

The page photo above was a pen, ink and color wash work of art done by Gen Jansen. She passed away a few years ago. I am proud to be able to call her my friend.

She taught me to carve spirit faces using cottonwood bark and while I will never be able to create works of art like she was able to I'm thankful to have learned from her. She loved to create castles in cottonwood bark that were on display for many years at the Radio City Music Mall Art Studio in downtown St Cloud

At her wake this drawing was featured as part of her memorial... I never knew she did this art even though I knew her for at least 10-15 years!

It's such a beautiful rendition of the Holdingford Covered Bridge that I thought it would be appropriate to share it here. I think it really represents "Lake Wobegon" very well!

Construction begins on Monday, July 22, 2019 on a culvert that runs under the Lake Wobegon Trail, north of Two Rivers Lake County Park, east of County Road 10. A detour of the trail will run along 390th Street. Signs are posted. The project is expected to be completed within a few weeks.

Hey everyone... we need your help! Please post trail conditions as you use the trail to help others know if the can use the trail for cycling and roller blading!

I've been getting calls, emails and texts asking about trail conditions... everyone is anxious to get out and use the trails!

Please share what the conditions are on the sections of the trail that you are using!

Details regarding Dave Simpkin's Wake and Funeral. Dave was a great supporter of the Lake Wobegon Trails and served as the president of the Lake Wobegon Trails Association in the early 2000's Dave will be sorely missed by all who use the Lake Wobegon Trails!

RIP Dave and Happy Trails to you!
