Congratulations to 4 of our HFT members on this past Sunday's Student Angler Tournament Trail Presented by Lund & Rapala regional HS fishing tournament. This was the first SATT tournament of the year and was on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes north of Brainerd. A lot of good teams were battling it out.
Congrats to Devon Engebretson and Grant Donabauer for hooking 3rd place and Eli Waddell and Brad Revermann for hooking 24th place. There were 66 HS teams participating.

Big Birch Lake 2/7/2026 Live Tournament.
The Holdingford Fishing Team had a live tournament this past Saturday. It was a bit chilly and the wind made things feel even colder as the day went on. That did not stop a lot of our student anglers from showing up and fishing! We had a great turn out and once again, MANY fish were caught. One of our anglers wanted to see what spearing was all about so we set up our gear and as you can see we had A LOT of ice to cut thru... 😁. We had 5 categories of fish to target. 4 of the categories were noted for a specific fish. Northern, Walleye, Crappie and Sunfish. The 5th category was for any other fish. Smallmouth won that category. The leader boards shown are for total amount in inches of fish caught. Thanks to all the student anglers that showed up and the parents/adults that brought them. A big thanks once again to all our sponsors that help make this all possible. A special BIG thank you to The Store of St Anna for donating the spearing decoy to the team!

Mille Lacs Launch Time!
We had a nice sized group from our Holdingford Fishing Team attend this past Friday 9/26/25 at Mille Lacs for our 2025 fishing launch event. It was a great time. Lots of fish were caught. Nothing huge for walleyes this time but a good variety of fish. It was a beautiful night on the big pond! Thanks to all the students that attended and the parents that brought them! A special thanks to Tutts Bait And Tackle for giving us some DEALS on prizes for the young anglers for this event! Lastly a BIG THANK YOU to all of our sponsors!! We could not do all this fun fishing stuff without you all!

Holdingford Fishing Team. A friendly reminder for this coming weekend (Memorial Weekend) tournament.

EXISTING members search "HFT Memorial Day" in the FishDonkey app. This will be a typical virtual tournament style, running from Saturday at 5am thru Monday at 5pm.

NEW members search "HFT Practice Tournament" in the FishDonkey app. This also is running from Saturday at 5am thru Monday at 5pm. This is for you to learn the app and register fish, etc. No prizes for this one. But will be fun competition!

Lastly, an optional virtual fishing tournament (not associated with our team tournament) that any of you can join is the Lund Virtual Fishing Tournament which is this Sunday from 7am to 2pm. ***Final Reminder***
Monday May 19th, 6:00 pm Holdingford School Theater. Holdingford Fishing Team sign-up night. All New and Existing students in grades 7-12 (the grade you will be in this coming school year 2025/2026) please join us. Boys and Girls. If you love fishing, want to learn more about the team or anything else, we would love to see you there. The Holdingford Fishing Team runs all year. June thru May each year. You can participate as you have time. We have no long term commitments. We have live fishing tournaments amongst our team as well as virtual fishing tournaments summer and winter. We try to have monthly learning seminars as well. Also, we are a good stepping stone to learn and participate in the state HS Bass tournaments which is the SATT - Student Angler Tournament Trail. We hope to see you there!
*** We understand there is a band concert this night as well. Stop by the theater after the concert if interested. We will still be there.

Lastly, or team is looking for parents and adults to help out. Our team is a registered 501C3 organization and have a board and are always looking for more members to join. Or maybe just to come to our meetings and bring your great ideas. We never will turn away help and new ideas. Thanks for the consideration. Talk to us at this meeting for any questions you may have about helping.
