This season carried two mottos with us everywhere we went: “All in” and “Hearts up.” And this past weekend, our dancers lived every word of it.
We are beyond proud to share that this team made program history once more bringing home our first ever Jazz state medal with a 3rd place finish. A milestone that will forever be written into HDT’s story. And alongside it, our Kick team earned another incredible 3rd place finish marking the 4th state medal in program history and the first time HDT has ever brought home two state medals in one year. Truly one for the books.
Our Jazz performance held a piece of our past and present. Dancing to “I’m Already There,” we honored the legacy of our first state trip in 2022, when Jazz took the floor to “Colder Weather” (last picture). This season, we paid tribute by replacing that instrumental ending into the 2026 ending and returning to blue costumes a quiet nod to where this journey began and how far this program has come. And also a bittersweet goodbye to our seniors who were the last group to dance to “Colder Weather” 💙
Our Kick performance, The Odyssey, told a story of strength and resilience through Greek mythology a powerful reflection of the heart and grit these dancers carried all season long.
We close this chapter feeling bittersweet, inspired, and incredibly full of love.
This year has been built on gratitude for our community that shows up without hesitation, for families and friends who believe in these dancers endlessly, and for the teammates and coaches who pour their hearts into this program day after day.
To every team who shared the state floor with us, congratulations. We are honored to dance alongside such talent and passion.
