Long Island Judo

Long Island Judo Judo is a grappling art and competitive Olympic sport founded in Japan in 1882 by Jigoro Kano.

Judo consists of 67 official throws and multiple ground/submission techniques. The Long Island Judo & Martial Arts Association (LIJMAA) is a Judo-based school that combines elements of Boxing, Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, and Submission Grappling under a single effective self-defense system. Our training program is devised to meet the needs and goals of the individual, ranging from beginners to experienced

Judo players and competitive grapplers. We also offer street-combat self-defense, which includes weapon defense training. We welcome men, women, adults and children of any age to come visit us at our location in Port Jeff. The first month is free at no obligation, so come down and experience a real, effective, Judo-based combat system. LIJMAA is a member school of both the United States Judo Association (USJA) and the World Combat Arts Federation (WCAF).

This is a bit late and long overdue!Let's all congratulate Sensei Domenick on earning his 5th dan in judo.
There is no other student that I have pushed harder then him.
30 years later, once again congratulations!

Been involved with Judo and Jiu-Jitsu for over 55 years. Being involved with one of the governing bodies of judo since I was 12 years old. You would think being a Patron Life Member (Became regular life member at 15. One of the first 300members to join). that they would not ask you for yearly dues to keep your membership intact.
Well I'm finished with UxxA.
The policies of this organization stink as well.

When one of my two Dr. friends catches Covid, you know that we still have to wait a bit.
Sorry for the set back but once again everyone's health is my main concern.
Will keep you all updated.

Sensei Gary

Hey everyone! Had two conversations with my MD friends and dojo owners. So while this Corona Virus seems to of slowed down they feel it is still too soon to start back up. I have to go by what I am told. Especially being that one of these MD's is a huge judo enthusiast, if he is saying to wait a little while longer, I have to go by what he says.
Let's check back in two weeks.
Everyone stay safe.
Sensei Gary
