SPYA participates in the Parkland Softball League. The Fall season is focused on player skill development. Practices begin in mid-August. Games begin the weekend after Labor Day and run through the end of October.

The success of the organization hinges on volunteer coaches. Coaching is a rewarding activity and one your daughter’s will remember. Even if you do not have any coaching experience, I am available as are others to help guide anyone.

We are fielding teams in the following divisions:
PREP: Ages 8 and under.

10U: Ages 9 and 10. Increased focus on skill development and competitive games. Players pitch, score is kept, and umpires officiate the games. Games are played on a standard field with 60’ bases, pitch from 35’, and use a small size 11 softball.

12U: Ages 11 and 12. Increased focus on game strategy and mental awareness. Players pitch, score is kept, and umpires officiate the games. Players are able to steal any base, a size 12 softball is used, and pitchers pitch from 40’.

18U: Ages 13-18. Play on a regulation size softball field with pitchers pitching from 43’.

Practices begin mid-August and scheduled at the discretion of the coach. A typical pre-season practice schedule consists of 2-3 practices per week.

SPYA provides a personalized softball jersey with the players name and number on it.

Parents are responsible to supply black softball pants, cleats, softball glove, softball helmet with face mask. A softball bat is recommended for each player. There are extra bats if needed. A fielding facemark is recommenced as well.

Home games and practices are held at Springhouse Middle School.

Registration closes on August 14. Teams will begin forming in August. The registration link to TeamSnap will be posted on the SPYA website and softball page. Please forward to those who are interested.

Congratulations to our 10u Grey and 12u Red softball teams for bringing home championships on Saturday.

10u Grey won 11-10 pulling ahead in the 6th inning.

12u Red won in convincing fashion 10-1 beating Salisbury Navy.

Great job coaches and girls. SPYA softball is very proud of you!

Congratulations to our 10U Grey team and our 12U Red team for making it to the championship games this weekend.

10U Grey will play at 11:30 Saturday at Hokendauqua Park.

12U Red will close out the championships at Hokendauqua Park with a 2:30 game.

Come out and support our teams this weekend!

Congratulations to our 12U Red and Grey teams for finishing the season #3 and 4.

Both teams begin their championship run on June 9th at 6:00. Games will be played on Fields 2 and 3.

Grey vs. Salisbury

Congratulations to the SPYA Grey team for winning the 10uD1 Regular Season.

They face off on Thursday evening vs. LMYA 1 in the first round of the playoffs at Springhouse Fields.

Charley has grown up at the softball fields and LOVES being at the field with the girls. Thank you to all who have "thrown a ball" with Charley. She also loves chasing the tractor. Enjoy this entertaining video during post game clean-up.

While the weather has been beautiful, the amount of rain has left the fields very wet with more rain expected this week. Please be patient as we would love to be out on the fields already practicing, but we need to make sure the fields are safe to play on. Hopefully we can get started in the next week.



April 10 will be our Spring Season field day from 9-12. I will send out reminders.

If you can spare an hour or so to help clean up that fields that would be excellent. Kids welcome to join in.

Coach Chris & his “helpers” at the fields this morning assessing them & starting field prep. Our team “mascot” was also happy to be running the fields & collecting balls again...everyone is at their happy place!!!

Be on the look out soon for sign-ups for field prep days/volunteer hours...we can’t wait for spring season to begin!!!
