Okay, let’s talk about the elephant in the yoga room 🐘
Yoga Alliance has shared some pretty major changes planned for 2027—and understandably, yoga teachers + teacher trainees have A LOT of questions. So do we.
But before we panic: your 200HR isn’t suddenly disappearing. Your education doesn’t become invalid overnight. And Yoga Alliance registration has never been a requirement to teach yoga.
There are also parts of these proposed changes that could be really positive. Training hours alone don’t make someone a great teacher, and creating a system that recognizes teaching ability, ethics, safety, experience + continued learning could ultimately strengthen the profession.
Right now, though? There’s still a lot we don’t know.
So our take is pretty simple: stay curious, don’t panic + wait for the details.
Keep learning. Keep practicing. Keep teaching. 🌱
