DG Hoboken is a facility unique to the area and the largest full-scale training facility in town! Our 4,000 square foot gym features a multitude of training equipment to accommodate both male and female athletes from preschool to high school and beyond. This structured program is designed for each child to build strength, gain flexibility and improve balance and coordination, all while enjoying th

e sport of gymnastics. Diamond's friendly and talented staff takes pride in instilling the core values of the sport at each class level in a fun and exciting manner. Shining some light on one of our longest working coaches at Diamond, Elizabeth Schafer! If you didn’t know, she spends her time outside the gym as an artist, creating fiber based artworks in her studio. One of Elizabeth’s pieces is now temporarily on display here at Diamond! The work, titled Laurie Hernandez (2025), is composed of yarn on wood. Here, this work ties Elizabeth’s two passions: art and gymnastics! 

Elizabeth’s art piece is inspired by Laurie Hernandez, a retired Olympic gymnast, and her impact on the world. She not only loves Hernandez’s impact as a gymnast, but also as a passionate advocate for mental health and women’s empowerment. Elizabeth used her artwork to symbolize Laurie’s strength, authenticity, and compassion. Through layered spirals and beautiful shades of violet, Elizabeth reflects that same energy of Laurie into this piece.  💜✨
