I met Gavin Creel when I was in college. He was touring with my friends David Finch and Erika Weber AP LAc on Fame The Musical. Not only was he incredibly talented, but so humble, kind and encouraging. His passing is a huge shock and loss to the community, but i feel deeply for those who new and were close to him. Your pain is unbearable. That loss will always be there, but you will move through this and find peace in your memories with him. My condolences to you.

Tools matter! Make sure your software provides you with an intuitive interface that let's you control your crossfades with precision. Being able to see where the fade falls along the waveform is a HUGE advantage some software platforms offer. I prefer Sound Forge Audio Studio by Magix but there are many other options available. Use the free trial to determine what program works best for you!

Zoom IN! If you're cutting out and in at the same place in the verse or chorus, zoom in on the points you're putting together. It will help ensure you are lining up the beats for a clean transition.
