A little Diwali shopping reminder from one small-business owner to another ❤️

I love a good find. I love a good deal.

But I also want us to remember the other side of Diwali shopping.

For every product you see from a small business, there is usually a person behind it who saw a need, dreamed up an idea, took a risk, figured out how to actually make it, and put their time, money, creativity and SO much love into bringing it to life.

It may look like “just a product” when you see it on a shelf or in your feed. But to a small-business owner, that product can represent months of work and a whole lot of hope.

So this Diwali, shop wherever makes sense for your family - but don’t forget the small businesses creating beautiful, thoughtful things for our celebrations. ✨

I remember looking at the crafts my daughter was making at school and thinking, “I wish she had more things like this that felt like us.” ❤️

So I started taking the things she already loved making and adding a little Indian twist.

At the time, I had no idea I was starting a business. I was just a mom trying to create more little moments where my daughter could see our culture in her everyday play.

Those very first, very imperfect crafts eventually became Pink Burfi. 🥹

If you’ve ever had that “I wish someone made this for our kids” moment… just leave a ❤️. I know I’m not the only one.
