As we continue looking back on another incredible TURFS tournament, we wanted to take a moment to recognize just a few of the amazing organizations that helped make it all possible. We have many more sponsors to thank in the coming days, but these deserve a special spotlight!

A huge thank you Hobbs Municipal Schools for believing in this tournament from day one. Thank you for allowing us to use your incredible facilities year after year at no cost and for being such an amazing partner in supporting the Lea County Schools Crisis Fund. Your commitment to our students and community never goes unnoticed.

Thank you to the The City of Hobbs for your continued support and for allowing us to apply for the Lodgers Tax. From welcoming teams traveling from across New Mexico and West Texas to helping make events like TURFS possible, we are grateful for your partnership.

The results are in, and thanks to all of YOU, the 5th Annual TURFS Flag Football Tournament raised over $12,500 for the Lea County Schools Crisis Fund!

To say we are grateful would be an understatement.

What started five years ago as a way to help students facing crisis situations has grown into something so much bigger than a football tournament. This event is about community. It’s about showing up for our kids, our schools, and our neighbors when they need us most.

A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors who stepped up in a big way this year. Your support made this event possible and helped us create an experience that continues to grow year after year.

To every team that signed up, traveled, competed, and brought their best to the field, THANK YOU. We had teams from across Lea County, around New Mexico, and even West Texas. Seeing everyone come together for a cause bigger than themselves was truly amazing.

To our volunteers, especially those who spent the entire day in the heat making sure everything ran smoothly, we could not have done this without you. From check-in and scorekeeping to hydration stations, field support, and cleanup, you were the heartbeat of this event.

And a special thank you to Armando at Armando Ornelas State Farm Insurance for capturing a glimpse of what TURFS is all about. The photos and videos tell a story that words simply can’t.

We have to give a huge shoutout to Legacy Safety & Consulting for something that might not be the first thing you think of when you think "donation," but trust us, it was a game changer the last two weekends.

Cooling trailers.

If you've spent any time in the Permian Basin heat, you know exactly why this matters. Legacy brought the kind of relief usually reserved for oilfield crews to our United We Play Pickleball Tournament and our TURFS Flag Football Tournament, and it made a real difference for our players, volunteers, and families out there competing and cheering in the heat.

It's the kind of creative, practical support that doesn't always make headlines but absolutely makes events possible. Thank you, Legacy Safety & Consulting, for thinking outside the box and showing up for our community in such a meaningful way.

Join us in thanking the HMS social workers who showed up for TURFS Flag Football, thank you doesn't feel like enough 🧡

Y'all spend your days finding gaps and figuring out how to fill them for your students. Brainstorming resources. Showing up for kids in the moments that matter most. Doing more with less, again and again, because that's just who you are.

And then you turned around and gave your whole day to this tournament too. Volunteering your time so the Lea County Schools Crisis Fund can keep doing exactly what you've helped us build it to do, being there for students when there are gaps no one else can fill.

We see you. We see the work you do. And we are so grateful to have you in our corner, on the field and in the schools.
