Supporting Locked-Out USW Local 7-1 Steelworkers

With just a little over a week remaining, the NIALF is encouraging the community to come together in support of the hardworking steelworkers of USW Local 7-1, who have now been locked out by BP for nearly five months.

This fundraiser is an opportunity for union members, community supporters, local businesses, and labor allies to stand in solidarity with the workers and their families during this ongoing labor dispute. We are still seeking event sponsors, as well as participants to register for the ride.

Every dollar raised from this event will go directly to the USW Local 7-1 Strike and Defense Fund, helping provide support to the members and their families as they continue their fight for a fair contract.

Please come out and support our brothers and sisters who have been locked out for over four months. Please note that this is not a political platform for any election; it is strictly to support the families of the workers who are locked out.

Solidarity is more than a word—it’s action.

On August 8th, we’re hosting a fundraiser to support our USW 7-1 brothers and sisters who have now been locked out for nearly four months. More details and an official flyer will be announced soon.

We’re asking our union family, local businesses, and community supporters to stand with these workers by donating items for raffle baskets, gift cards, or other raffle prizes. Every donation will help provide support to our brothers and sisters as they continue to stand strong on the picket line in the fight for a fair contract.
