First, I want to thank Fight Card Entertainment for inducting me into the Hall of Fame. It truly means a lot. Even though I always felt like I never got the opportunity to fully show my true potential in the organization, this honor reminds me that none of the hard work, sacrifices, and dedication I put into this sport ever went unnoticed.
MMA is one of the most unforgiving sports in the world. It shows no mercy. But at the same time, this sport has saved me from so many situations in life and helped shape me into the man I am today. Along the way, I've met some incredible people. Many started as teammates or opponents, but today I proudly call them family.
I also want to congratulate my brothers-in-arms on their Hall of Fame inductions: Dan Bolden, Louis "Million $ Lou" Taylor, Lloyd Carter, Herc Hayes, and Jason Graves. It's an honor to be inducted alongside all of you.
To the next generation of fighters chasing greatness, I'll leave you with this: "To get where you've never been, you must be willing to do things you've never done before." Understand that true sacrifice means your goals come before everything else. If you're serious about reaching the top, your commitment has to match your dreams.
Million $ Lou made an excellent point during his induction speech. We're all from the Midwest, and we have to stop thinking, "My gym versus your gym." That mindset only limits your growth. I've had the privilege of cross-training with amazing gyms and incredible fighters throughout my career, and every experience made me better. If you want to reach the next level, don't be afraid to learn from everyone.
To my brothers, Nilo and Brian, thank you for always believing in me and supporting me throughout my journey. It's rare to find people who stay true to who they are year after year, and you both have done exactly that. You're not only outstanding promoters, but genuinely good men. I wish Fight Card Entertainment nothing but continued success...
..even if you guys never gave me a title shot! 😂
To my G.O.E. FIT family, thank you for helping make our gym a place where everyone feels welcome, valued, and at home. What we've built together is bigger than wins and losses, and I'm proud of every single one of you.
And finally...
P.S. Christian... thanks again for beating Lloyd. 🤣
