Say hi 👋 to a friendly grassland cicada found in the prairie next to our Center for Outdoor Learning. These loud insects are a staple of an Iowan summer, though this one will sound a bit different than the ones commonly heard in the trees of our backyards.

In this family friendly event, you'll get to experience nighttime in the park. On the hike we'll see fireflies, listen for owls, identify constellations, and end the night around the campfire. The hike will begin at 8:30pm on Thursday, July 23rd.

All our camps emphasize the outdoors, education, and outdoor recreation for ages pre-school up to high schoolers. Most of our camps will be at Hillview Recreation Area.
