Looking to boost your health in 2025? Check out these tips to help you out.
The start of a new year is the perfect opportunity to set fitness goals, but let’s be real—by the time February rolls around, many of us have already let those resolutions slide. It’s easy to lose motivation when workouts start to feel like a chore, leaving you frustrated and questioning if it’s all worth it.
But don’t lose hope! Just like anything else in life, getting fit is all about setting achievable goals and sticking with them. With these simple tips, you can stay on track and reach your health goals.

Start your fitness journey by following the SMART method:

1. SIMPLE: doesn't have to be fancy. Often 2 or 3 movements put together with intensity will yield great results.
2. MEASURABLE: just saying you want to be fit is great, but how are you going to get there? Set goals in and out of the gym. They don't have to be grandiose
3. ATTAINABLE: Make small goals a priority. Do one more rep, or walk an extra 5 min. Small attainable goals are easier to focus on
4. REALISTIC: be realistic with your goal setting. Change happens over time with consistency. You must commit to sticking to the plan, even when motivation wavers
5. TRACKABLE: track your reps and weights for every workout. You'll see results once you put pen to paper and see how you're adding loads and shaving off times off your workouts.

Let us help you reach your fitness goals
Unsure of how to start your fitness plan? Don’t know what workouts are best for you? Our coaches at Strike Hard can provide exercises to help you reach your goals.

While often used interchangeably, "core stability" refers to the ability to resist unwanted movement and maintain a stable spinal position, while "core strength" is the capacity to generate force through the core muscles, meaning a stable core is a prerequisite for optimal core strength; essentially, stability is about control and resisting motion, while strength is about producing power through movement.

Key differences:
Function:
Core stability focuses on maintaining proper posture and resisting movement during activities, while core strength emphasizes the ability to generate force for movements like lifting or twisting.
Muscle activation:
Core stability exercises often involve isometric contractions, engaging smaller stabilizing muscles to hold a position, while core strength exercises typically involve dynamic movements with larger muscle groups generating force.
Application:
Core stability training is crucial for preventing injuries and improving balance in everyday activities, while core strength training is important for activities requiring power and heavy lifting.

Examples of exercises:
Core stability exercises: Plank, side plank, bird dog, dead bug
Core strength exercises: Crunches, leg raises, Russian twists, back extensions

⭐️ ATHLETE OF THE MONTH 🌟
Our is Mary B.
She never shies away from being "talked into" doing some extra credit work before class. She always comes in with the best attitude (except running days 😆) and puts in hard work for self-betterment day in and day out. Mary has truly grown as an athlete in the last year, and all her hard work is showing! We are proud of you 🫶

Break Through Your Boundaries and Enjoy the Adventure!

Keep in mind that every goal we pursue is attainable if we dedicate ourselves, maintain consistency, and foster a positive attitude. Fitness transcends mere physical appearance; it’s about pushing your limits, raising your standards, and uncovering your true potential.

When fatigue sets in or progress feels sluggish, remember that this is where real transformation occurs. Don’t allow temporary setbacks to cloud your vision of the greater goal. Each workout, every stride, and every nutritious choice brings you closer to becoming your strongest self.

Aim for goals that both intimidate and excite you. Jot them down, divide them into manageable tasks, and approach them with unwavering determination. Have faith in the journey, and recognize that the process is just as vital as the end result.

Stay focused, persevere through challenging moments, and take time to acknowledge your achievements—regardless of their size. You are capable! 💪 Keep pushing forward, and let your commitment motivate those around you.
