Seneca Lake Fact:

February 1912 is the last time Seneca Lake froze over its entire surface. ... While areas along the shoreline may ice up, several weeks of temperatures well below freezing and a lack of wind are required to cover the entire lake. A complete freeze has happened only four times in recorded history: 1855, 1875, 1885 and 1912.
