Week 8 Summer Tennis Camp Recap!

What a finish! It all came down to the final day, with Team Sailors edging out Team Players in a thrilling battle after the teams entered the day tied. The victory knots up our Summer Camp Series at 4-4, setting the stage for an epic winner-take-all finale next week!

Our Red Ball Camp was full of energy this week with 6 enthusiastic young players bringing smiles, hustle, and tons of excitement to the courts every day!

Oak Carmines - A true camp veteran who continues to lead by example with outstanding effort and sportsmanship.

Oskar Mackie - joining us all the way from Switzerland, proving that SCYC Summer Tennis Camp is becoming an international destination for young players!

Week 7 is in the books, and it was another action-packed week filled with great tennis, teamwork and FUN!

TEAM PLAYERS kept their momentum rolling, earning another weekly victory to take a 4-3 lead in our Summer Camp Series over Team Sailors. With just two weeks remaining, the championship is still up for grabs!

Our campers also showed off their creativity on Spirit Day, arriving in their best blue and pink outfits and bringing plenty of energy both on and off the court.

Congratulations to this week’s MVP’s Charlotte Kenney and Sophia Stanbridge!

Their outstanding effort, sportsmanship, positive attitude, and teamwork made them deserving recipients of this week’s honor.

Another Thank You to all of our campers for another fantastic week. We can’t wait to finish the summer strong!

The week wrapped up with an awesome USA Spirit Day on Thursday, where campers showed off their patriotic colors and brought even more energy to the courts.

The last few weeks have been Red Hot at our Summer Junior Tennis Camp!

The battle between Team Sailors and Team Players has been fierce, with Team Players holding a narrow 3-2 series lead as we reach the halfway point of the summer. Every week has been filled with great competition, teamwork, and plenty of fun!

These players stood out with their outstanding sportsmanship, team spirit, positive attitude, and enthusiasm throughout the week. Keep up the great work!

Our future Hall of Famers (ages 4-6) also made history by setting a new camp record with 10 Red Ball players last week! Many of these young athletes have been repeat campers this summer, and their hard work is paying off. We’re seeing better ball contact and lots of shots clearing the net - a huge step forward for our youngest players.

SCYC Summer Tennis Camp Week 2 is officially in the history books!

It may have been a smaller group this week, but the competition was fierce. With the teams evenly matched from start to finish, every challenge came down to the wire. In the end, Team Players edged out Team Sailors to even the summer series at one apiece.

Congratulations to Preston Weppner for earning MVP honors this week with his outstanding effort, sportsmanship, and performance throughout camp!

Our Red Ball Camp was another huge success as we welcomed a great group of future Hall of Fame tennis stars in training. These young athletes battled through the summer heat, stayed focused, and worked hard on developing their tennis skills all week long.

And while their tennis games continue to improve, their fashion games may be advancing even faster! Representing their own unique styles on court, we think a few major apparel endorsements could be in their future.

Week 3 we have a huge group coming out so should be plenty of action!

SCYC Week 1 of Summer Tennis Camp is officially in the books!

We had 25 players on the courts this week, including our very first Red Ball Camp for our future tennis stars. It was great to see so much enthusiasm, energy, and improvement throughout the week.

Campers were drafted onto Team Players and Team Sailors and competed in a variety of challenges, games, and team competitions all week long. Team Sailors showed their experience on the court and built an early lead, but Team Players battled back with incredible determination. After winning the final “Touch the Fence” challenge, Team Players came within arms reach of a comeback victory, but Team Sailors held on to claim the Week 1 title!

Both players demonstrated outstanding effort, sportsmanship, and leadership throughout the week. Congratulations on a well deserved recognition.

The summer camp grudge match has officially begun, and we’ll be tracking the results each week to see which team comes out on top by the end of summer.
