SCYC Summer Tennis Camp Week 2 is officially in the history books!

It may have been a smaller group this week, but the competition was fierce. With the teams evenly matched from start to finish, every challenge came down to the wire. In the end, Team Players edged out Team Sailors to even the summer series at one apiece.

Congratulations to Preston Weppner for earning MVP honors this week with his outstanding effort, sportsmanship, and performance throughout camp!

Our Red Ball Camp was another huge success as we welcomed a great group of future Hall of Fame tennis stars in training. These young athletes battled through the summer heat, stayed focused, and worked hard on developing their tennis skills all week long.

And while their tennis games continue to improve, their fashion games may be advancing even faster! Representing their own unique styles on court, we think a few major apparel endorsements could be in their future.

Week 3 we have a huge group coming out so should be plenty of action!

SCYC Week 1 of Summer Tennis Camp is officially in the books!

We had 25 players on the courts this week, including our very first Red Ball Camp for our future tennis stars. It was great to see so much enthusiasm, energy, and improvement throughout the week.

Campers were drafted onto Team Players and Team Sailors and competed in a variety of challenges, games, and team competitions all week long. Team Sailors showed their experience on the court and built an early lead, but Team Players battled back with incredible determination. After winning the final “Touch the Fence” challenge, Team Players came within arms reach of a comeback victory, but Team Sailors held on to claim the Week 1 title!

Both players demonstrated outstanding effort, sportsmanship, and leadership throughout the week. Congratulations on a well deserved recognition.

The summer camp grudge match has officially begun, and we’ll be tracking the results each week to see which team comes out on top by the end of summer.

A special thanks for all the campers this week. We can’t wait to see what week 2 has in store!

The first ever Team Mark vs Team Winkie Head-to-Head Match is officially in the history books!

16 players were recruited to go into battle in a mix of head-to-head match play and a pressure filled Skinny Singles competition. After a strong start from Team Mark in match play it came down to a dramatic match tiebreaker singles showdown with Team Winkie pulling out the victory!

It was a beautiful day at the SC Yacht Club with every tennis and pickleball court full and great energy around.

A special thank you to all the pickleball players who competed today - we appreciate the great competition and camaraderie. Look forward to the next match.

Picklers don’t forget the PB madness tournament is on Saturday, April 4th and you can register through court reserve!
