Said “I’ll see you later” to one of my college bound athletes last week 🥹

is headed to play tennis at Muhlenberg College 🎾

Bittersweet last strength training session as I bid farewell to Casey, a phenomenal tennis athlete and even better human.

Over the past two years, we’ve tackled injuries, built strength, grew confidence, and forged a bond that goes well beyond the gym. Our sessions were more than just workouts; they were check-ins, therapy sessions, and growth on and off the court.

You’ll always be part of the JTP family, Casey. I’m so proud of you and can’t wait to see you take on every challenge ahead. I’ll miss you, bud. 💪 Go show them what you’re made of! Go be great!!

So excited to share that my company, Just Tri Performance, had the privilege of sponsoring the Hilton Head Island High School girls soccer team this past spring season!

Supporting these talented young athletes was an amazing opportunity to give back to the community and encourage their growth beyond just sports performance.

🌙💪 Let’s talk about sleep and recovery for our young female athletes! 🏃‍♀️💤

As teen girls navigate puberty, they often experience delayed sleep onset, making it tough to get adequate amounts of rest for their developing bodies.

Teens often prefer to stay up late and sleep in later, which clashes with school and athletic schedules, leading to chronic sleep deprivation and circadian rhythms disruption.

Sleep Duration Targets:
- Ages 8-12 need 9-12 hours of sleep
- Ages 13-18 need 8-10 hours

Also don’t forget to add in the menstrual cycle to the mix, symptoms of PMS and PMDD—like mood swings, bloating, and discomfort—can further impact sleep quality.

It’s crucial for girls to understand how their behaviors can negatively impact their sleep architecture—affecting the balance of REM and non-REM sleep, as well as slow-wave sleep—which are vital sleep phases for physical recovery, memory consolidation, and skill/movement retention.

Prioritizing sleep is essential for peak performance and overall well-being.

The Menstrual Cycle is everyone’s business‼️

Organizations, directors, teams, and coaching staff need to recognize and better support women throughout their menstrual cycles.
WHY⁉️ Because it’s in everyone’s interests.

For one, the impact of menstrual health on performance and participation is significant, and ignoring it can lead to unnecessary dropouts in sports, school, and the workplace.

Addressing these challenges ensures better retention and engagement, saving resources that would otherwise go toward filling gaps left by those who are forced out.

And secondly… whether you’re male, female, a coach, or a teammate, everyone is connected to someone experiencing menstrual cycles. Without proper support, challenges and struggles are inevitable, and no one benefits from that.
