🛑Just Ask Jim: South Carolina’s new Stop-as-Yield law is changing how cyclists can navigate intersections.

🚦Under the new law, riders may treat stop signs as yield signs when there is no immediate hazard. At red lights, cyclists must come to a complete stop but may proceed after yielding to vehicles, pedestrians and others with the right of way.

🚲 Jim Hall, one of our owners and president of Bike Walk Hilton Head Island, explains what the law allows, why it may improve safety and traffic flow and how cyclists can use it responsibly.
