Pretty cool situation yesterday off Cape Cod. The Great White Shark “Freeman” that we caught and tagged off Hilton Head last December was spotted by Megan Winton and Greg Skomal off Massachusetts. Not as in pinged in, they were out on the boat tagging sharks and she swam by. They put a GoPro in the water to get some shots and confirmed it was her. Love it!
And Megan was with us when we caught her in December, she leaned over and put the tags on. I’m not sure what the odds are in running into the same exact shark 900 miles from where we caught her, but pretty cool to see.

Got a few weeks off. I hate losing all of August and all of hammer season, but it’s hard to complain these days. It’s a great career, unfortunately it beats you up a little bit.

Great White Shark “Aftco” pinging in this week just north of the Maine border, in the Bay of Fundy. We caught this girl in December off Hilton Head and she’s traveled over 1500 miles since release.
She had a good amount battle wounds on her from seals, so I’m sure she’s enjoying her time up there.

Mathew from England with one of the wildest weeks. This guy travels the world for Marlin, Bluefin Tuna, and sharks. He booked 4 straight days with hopes of catching his first tiger, bull, and hammerhead. He said “don’t worry mate if we don’t get all three, I know it’s fishing”
Day 1 he landed 4 bulls and 1 lemon.
Day 2 he landed 3 tigers
Day 3 he landed 1 bull, 1 lemon, 1 tiger
Day 4 he landed 1 tiger, 1 hammerhead
What a week for the tigers to make a good comeback, and to end the trip on a hammer 🤌🏼 He’s living. Wish I had better shots but it was just him and I’m exhausted.

Mathew from England with another tiger shark this morning. This guy has been on fire, never seen someone so lucky. His 4th one in 2 days.

Hog sized nearshore bull shark. Water temp has been going back and forth between 88-90° …blazing hot due to lack of rain. I think the hotter than normal water temps are pushing more and more Bull sharks north into our waters.
