Palmetto Rowing Club Today:
The Club currently has 40 active members, ranging in age from 16 to 80.
90% of our rowers learned to row on Hilton Head Island. We have a good-sized fleet of single shells to interest rowers of all ages and skill levels. We row on scenic Broad Creek and share its pristine beauty with dozens of dolphins, bald eagles, pelicans, ibises, and blue herons. We are pleased to o

ffer our first lesson at no charge and the remaining 3-4 lessons for $200. Lessons are offered year-round. We have doctors, teachers, dentists, sales & marketing professionals, stay-at-home moms, contractors, and entrepreneurs--in all shapes, sizes, and ages. We gather socially twice a year. Come check out ROWING!
We are a non-competitive rowing club! Nobody yells at us to row faster, we all row singles at our own pace although, if you’re looking for a hard workout, rowing will give you that too.

If you’ve ever thought you might… or it’s suddenly occurred to you that it might be fun, here’s the prefect chance to see what it’s like.

Shannon Ramos has been named the Volunteer of the Year by The Outside Foundation! As dedicated members of the Palmetto Rowing Club of Hilton Head Island, we see Shannon's passion for the water firsthand, and it's this deep connection that drives her incredible work for our community. Shannon led the largest boat ramp litter sweep of the season and is constantly volunteering her time and positive energy for Kids in Kayaks programs, oyster shell bagging, and reef builds, tirelessly working to protect the Broad Creek waterways we all love to row on!
