Great job Mikayla, Reese, Raleigh and Khelsie for helping to kick off this year's Demonstrations & Illustrated Talks! Mikayla gave her presentation on "Range Safety", Reese did her talk on "Archery & the Olympics", Ryleigh talked about "Use of Bows & Arrows in Amongst Native People" and Khelsie rounded out the evening talking about "Ranges of All Rifles Chart/Presentation"...all were very informative! Really looking forward to tomorrow's presentations. Those on deck to give presentations tomorrow are:

Our 4-H club will be providing the food concession for this event, as part of a fundraiser. We will have a variety of snacks, beverages, and will be serving hot dogs and chili bowls for lunch...be sure to stop by, learn a little about our program and help support our 4-H club by buying something to eat & drink...Mahalo!!

Hawaii Island 4-H Shooting Sports youths... We're always talking about Trigger and Breathing Control... Here's an example of positioning your Trigger Finger to get maximum effect on increasing positive shooting results... Look at your finger and see the coiled imprint as to where it should rest on the Trigger.... Remember to squeeze the Trigger... NOT PULL... Pulling the Trigger exerts unnecessary pressure which causes your rifle or handgun to "jerk" (or pull upwards) potentially missing the bullseye... We'll talk about breathing later ..but for now, get a good sight picture first, and practice squeezing the trigger ... Papa Jeno

Hawaii Island 4-H Shooting Sports held their mid year air rifle competition yesterday. This photo is the winners from the 5:00-6:00 PM group. Congratulations to Parker Ducosin, Brinn Brooks, Ambrose Kapono, Charles Cross, & Kyden Castro. Behind them are HI4-HSS club leaders: Jeremiah Leonard, Mark Kapono, David Cross & Gavin Tanouye.
