The American Working Dog Federation was formed in St. Louis, MO., June 17, 1989 to develop awareness in the United States about the crucial need to provide a broader base to represent the working dog throughout the world and to preserve and protect the heritage of our respective breeds in America.

✅🔰The 2024 AWDF IGP Championship✅🔰
* To preserve and protect the working heritage of the various working breeds. That working character has been weakened by American breeders is seldom argued. In several working breeds, the "type" of the dogs that are produced in their homelands now is considerably different, both physically and mentally, from those produced in America.
* To have American working titles recorded and recognized internationally and to preserve our pedigree system. All of the member clubs either have developed, or are in the process of developing, registry systems that meet the international standard.
*To become affiliated with the FCI (Federation Cynologique Internationale). FCI, a world-recognized organization, acknowledges just one registry per nation. AWDF is an applicant member of FCI. Presently, AWDF participates as a guest member at FCI meetings and invitational events.

WELCOME TO THE 2024 AWDF
National IGP Championship

On behalf of the AWDF, DVG America, and Wild West Dog Sport Club welcomes you to the 2024 AWDF IGP Championship in Hilmar, California April 5-7th.

The California Central Valley offers many exciting things to experience in addition to attending the National Championship. Within a two-hour drive you can visit Yosemite, Napa Valley, and the San Francisco Bay. Hilmar and Turlock offer many dining options including Hilmar Cheese Factory and Dustbowl Brewing Company, two local favorites. For those interested in local California wines, Lodi, approximately 45 minutes north of the stadium, has guided wine tours and tastings through beautiful local wineries.

If you are interested in running for a position, please fill out the petition for nomination/endorsement form by the required date.
You must be a member in good standing of a full member club of the AWDF to be eligible to run for office.

Please visit the "How To Page" and scroll down to the "Individual/Handler information" section and "How do I run for the AWDF board?"
Completed nomination forms must be received by the Nominating Committee by Feb 17, 2024. A short resume to educate everyone on the candidate’s qualifications is optional but will be helpful to those who will be voting.
