📢 COMMUNITY INVITATION: PUBLIC HEARING FOR CDBG FUNDING

Carroll Wellness Center invites you to attend a Public Hearing regarding our application for funding through the Virginia Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

đź—“ Tuesday, June 9, 2026
⏰ 6:00 PM
📍 Carroll Wellness Center – Group Exercise Room

This funding would support the expansion of our Restoration Clinic, allowing us to continue providing FREE services to individuals facing cancer, diabetes, chronic illness, and other health challenges throughout our community.

The Restoration Clinic offers life-changing support services including:
✔️ Exercise and wellness programs
✔️ Nutritional counseling
✔️ Emotional support resources
✔️ Community health education
✔️ Assistance for underserved and low-income individuals

The public hearing is an opportunity for community members to learn more about the project, provide input, and help support efforts to improve access to health and wellness services in Carroll County.

The proposed project is expected to primarily benefit low- and moderate-income residents and strengthen the resources available to those who need them most.

Your voice matters. We hope you'll join us and help shape the future of health and wellness in our community.

✨CWC Restoration Clinic Waitlist Update ✨

We’re grateful to share an update with our community regarding our patient waiting list.

đź“‹ Current waitlist: 36 patients
🤝 Referring providers: Over 80 and growing

We are currently scheduling patients whose prescription forms were submitted in APRIL.

👉 If you turned in your prescription form with us in APRIL, please be on the lookout for a call — we can’t wait to start working with you!

We understand the wait can feel long, and we truly appreciate your patience. Our waitlist reflects:
- The large number of referring providers who trust our program
- The growing demand for exercise prescription for chronic disease and cancer-related health conditions
- And most importantly, funding limitations — the Restoration Clinic is funded solely through grants (We do NOT take insurance nor out-of-pocket cost)

💙 Because of this support, we’re able to continue serving our community without personal expense.

A heartfelt thank you to the Twin County Community Foundation for providing us the means to prevent illness and preserve wellness in our community.

We are honored by the trust placed in us and excited to continue growing alongside you!

Meet Marc Jones. Help us celebrate the power of perseverance, movement, and healthy living. đź’™

Marc came to us with a goal of lowering his A1C through personalized exercise prescription and nutrition guidance, but along this journey, we’ve also had the privilege of helping him manage the challenges that come with Parkinson’s disease. With Marc’s permission, we wanted to share a small part of his story in hopes of encouraging others who may be facing similar struggles.

At the Restoration Clinic, we believe wholeheartedly that EXERCISE IS MEDICINE. Movement has the ability to improve not only physical strength, but confidence, independence, balance, coordination, energy levels, and overall quality of life.

Marc has been working incredibly hard in his sessions. His program includes:
🥊 Non-contact boxing using our new interactive boxing machine to improve reaction time, coordination, and cognitive engagement
🚶 Balance and agility training with hurdles and agility ladders to help stability and mobility
❤️ Cardiovascular exercise to support heart health, endurance, and blood sugar management
đź’Ş Resistance training to build strength and preserve muscle function
🥗 Nutrition guidance to support healthier habits and improve A1C levels

Research continues to show that regular exercise can play a major role in helping individuals with Parkinson’s disease maintain mobility, reduce stiffness, improve balance, and even enhance mood and mental well-being. Combined with proper nutrition and consistency, these lifestyle changes can truly be life-changing.

Marc reminds us that progress does not require perfection — it requires persistence. Every workout, every healthy choice, and every step forward matters.

We are so proud of the work he is putting in and grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside him on this journey. His determination is inspiring, and we hope his story encourages others to keep moving, keep fighting, and never give up on their health.

No matter your age or diagnosis, it is NEVER too late to start exercising and investing in your wellness. Your body was designed to move — and movement truly is medicine. 💙
