Broken Bottle

There are two types of family members when a member of the family is in trouble.

The first type would be like: Who did this to you? WE must take this up. No one can dare hurt a son of XYZ. Let's get this sorted out.
Keyword there is "We" which signifies unity.

You see the second type of family, the reaction is always: Who sent you there? Why did you go there? Don't call me if anything happens to you o.
This sends a message of "I am alone" to the affected member of the family, and he/ she goes on to become a lone ranger.
Even if they are 10 siblings, they can never be united because of deep seated disconnection with the other members.

The first type of family have more successful people because they pull one another up. They put the family first, while second type of family have more struggling people who are obsessed with demands for respect, because they know that they have no value to the others.

In most cases, it's the parents who produce each type of family due to their actions and utterances. When a mother values the more successful child over the struggling ones, saying things like "Don't tell your sister her fault. Don't make her angry" so that that one will not stop sending money, the family becomes disintegrated and everyone starts trying to get better than the other.

And the cycle goes on. Today, some people know their cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles and aunts while many people don't even know what their uncles or aunts look like anymore not to mention the children.

Your next generation depends on you to be either united or disintegrated.
