I have been doing Beer Yoga almost every other Saturday for the last 4 years, I cannot thank Felicia and Hillsdale Brewing Company enough for giving me the opportunity to come and share what I love with the community, it has been a blessing and an honor! And to the people in this picture, I love you and am blessed to know you, whether you know it or not, each one of you has brought joy to my life and I appreciate you all showing up today for my last class! Years ago I had a Tuesday-morning class I nearly gave up. Same handful of regulars, similar shapes week to week. I was sure it was boring—for them and for me—and I kept itching to spice it up so it would feel like I was doing something.

I didn’t. I stayed with it. And that steady, unglamorous class became the best teaching of my week.

When nothing about the structure was new, everything else could deepen. I stopped managing the plan and started noticing people. I saw the shoulder that was finally softening after months. I heard the exhale that meant someone had actually set their worries down. The regulars went further, not despite the repetition, but because of it.

We treat novelty as proof that we’re good. Most of the time, it’s just proof that we’re anxious. The steadier the container, the more real practice can happen inside it—for them and for you.

You’re allowed to teach a class that looks simple from the outside. You’re allowed to let a good thing repeat until it gets deep. That’s not playing it safe. That’s the craft doing what it does.
