Basket Bashers Amateur Tour presented by MVP Disc Sports

“The North Carolina Amateur Showcase” has officially been canceled.

Canceling a tournament is never an easy pill to swallow. Certainly so when it is one as loved as the Am Showcase. However, the impending weather with hurricane Debbie presents a very gloomy situation. Louisburg is known for holding water after bad weather, some of you have already noticed standing water on the course from a rain we had last week. Couple that with the 6-10” of rain we are predicted to get this week and you can see where the fear comes in.

What the rain will do:

Cause several areas on both courses to be unplayable.
Prevent the city from being able to mow the courses due to risk of getting stuck.
Prevent me from being able to get baskets set out on the temp course
Cause temp tee pads to have terrible and potentially dangerous footing.
Prevent painted OB lines from being consistent and easily defined.

I will begin to issue refunds immediately after sending this email. I wanted to try and give people enough time to cancel reservations they have made for lodging, travel, and work arrangements if necessary.

As far as the Basket Bashers North Carolina Amateur Tour is concerned. The tour series will now be cut to 5 events (instead of 6) and we will take your top 3 events for scoring instead of your top 4. The $500 of added payout to each event provided by MVP Disc Sports will be applied to the Finale at Acorn Hill. Meaning the Finale will now have $1000 of added payout instead of the original $500.

Registration is now open for the first stop of the Basket Bashers Virginia Amateur Tour at Falling Creek!

Card CTPs
100% of net entry fee paid back out
100% of women paid out
Top 75% of mixed divisions is paid out.
Last place paid out in each division is $20 minimum

Prizes for overall top in each division at the final tour stop.

Points Series Overall Divisions Prizes:
1st: MVP Black Hole Pro HD Basket with carry case and a $150 gift card to Basket Bashers Disc Golf
2nd: $125 gift card to Basket Bashers Disc Golf
3rd: $100 gift card to Basket Bashers Disc Golf

Stop #10 goes live tonight at 8pm eastern! We have moved the event from Keeley park to Garden Grove which is a new course in the Burlington area! There will be a $5 pass through fee going to BADG (Burlington Area Disc Golf)

The Basket Bashers Amateur Tour Stop - Keeley has been canceled. Unfortunately this situation is out of my control and I have to shift to another venue. I am currently looking into keeping the event at a Triad friendly course. The first option we are exploring is Wellsprings, the second option we are exploring is Leigh Farm in Durham. We would like to keep the event in the Triad area for the Triad players who were looking forward to having one close to home. If you have any recommendations please reach out to me directly.
