Oam enjoys the color red, wearing jeans and a shirt. His favorite dish consists of rice and vegetables. He tends to become shy around new guests. He helps his mother with household chores. Additionally, he excels at drawing, soccer, and dancing, and maintains good health. Oam attends a school located about 200 meters from his home, where he excels in his favorite subject, Hindi, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication to his studies.
Oam resides with his parents and siblings. They frequently gather to discuss their children's future and plan for the next day's work. The family is known for being helpful to others. Oam's father earns their living through daily wage labor.
Six individuals reside in the dwelling, which is made of mud walls, a tiled roof, and a mud floor. The home is equipped with electricity, and cooking is done using firewood. Water is accessed from a community hand pump. Oam sleeps on a shared cot furnished with a mattress, mat, and blankets. Bathing and laundry are done in a nearby pond, which also serves as a water source for their pets. The house is situated in a remote jungle area.

The greatest coaches in the world were Process driven vs. Outcome driven. Meaning, they focused on developing the skills & abilities needed to gain the outcome of winning.

These coaches loved practices more than the games.

Sure winning was great, but John Wooden, the greatest college basketball coach in history, said he got more satisfaction from seeing his players make small incremental improvements during practices.

At the end of the season, Wooden's athletes would be so skilled that they won a record 10 national titles in a 12 year span!

If YOU want to "Win", become Process Focused!

Focus on the NEW routines, habits and preferences you need to develop to get the outcome of "winning" (losing weight).

Feel great that this week you're developing the habit of going to the gym at least one day a week.

Feel great that this month you are developing the routine of taking a fruit to work as a snack.

Feel great that you are learning to like your coffee black instead of full of high fat/sugar creamers.

Feel great that you're getting stronger on the leg press and other machines at the gym.

✅How to make your Willpower Work👍

Willpower is simply the power of your will needed to do something. On a 1-10 scale you need 0 “willpower” to do something you like and 10 “willpower” to do something you absolutely hate.
The key to any successful permanent change in your life is not how to get more “willpower”, but rather how to USE your willpower correctly over time until the change habitualizes and you eventually need zero willpower.

Proper use of willpower involves gradually transforming your opinion of the change so that it requires less willpower over time until it becomes something you like or even love!

The process of properly using Willpower needs to go from: Tolerable ➡️OK➡️Like➡️ Love.

Let’s take the example of starting an exercise program at a gym. The first workout you are new, and self-conscious but with the help of a trainer who shows you the proper use of the equipment, you found it “tolerable” or maybe even “OK”.

You’re still not feeling comfortable in the gym after just one visit, so you have another session with the trainer. After a few workouts you start to feel comfortable and are beginning to really “like” your gym workouts.

A few more weeks of enjoyable workouts and you eventually get to a point where you are really looking forward to “gym day” and can honestly say you WANT to go to the gym! Now you no longer need “willpower” to go to the gym! You have moved from Like➡️Love.

The key to getting something to require zero willpower is consistently experiencing positive emotions when doing the thing you want to do. If each time you went to the gym you felt the same level of discomfort and incompetence, you’d have to continue to use high levels of willpower to force yourself to go.

We are all automatically subconsciously compelled to avoid pain and discomfort, so you’d eventually run out of willpower and start telling everyone including yourself that you “don’t have time to workout” to relieve yourself of the other pain of feeling bad about yourself not accomplishing your goal of making workouts a part of your healthy lifestyle.

Instead, keep in mind that ANY healthy change you want to make you must transition from (Tolerable ➡️OK➡️Like➡️Love). To develop a liking for any healthy food, start with small pieces/portions mixed in with things you like and give your brain the good feelings it needs by focusing on how good it feels to be incorporating this new healthy food into your diet. Science shows that multiple food exposures that are tolerable move to OK and further exposures over time move to like or even love.

So instead of using bulldozer willpower to choke down foods that currently taste “terrible” to your brain or go to the gym and feel overwhelmed, out of place and sore; make your changes small and easy for your brain to handle (tolerable) and allow the multiple exposures to reprogram your brain to transition from tolerable ➡️OK and then from OK➡️ Like/Love. Do this successfully by focusing on the great feelings produced from the benefits of making the change which allows a new liking and preference to develop over time.

If you use willpower correctly, you CAN teach your brain to love exercise and brussels sprouts!
