May Athlete of the Month is Dan!!
What brought you to 45 North?
I quit going to the big-box gym when COVID hit and tried working out in my garage for a while, but it was hard to stay consistent. 45 North is close to home and the 5:15am time-slot fits really well with my family obligations and work schedule.

Favorite WOD or movement?
Whatever we did yesterday.

Least favorite?
Anything with “burpee” in the name. Burpees suck enough on their own. There’s no need to make them harder by jumping over something.

What do you love about Crossfit?
I enjoy getting to see people and hold each other accountable for showing up and working hard. I’ve worked out at conventional gyms for years and years, but they’re very impersonal and no one cared when I showed-up late or not at all. I also like the variety of exercises. It’s easy to fall into a rut when I’m programming for myself. Doing Crossfit ensures that I’m mixing it and pushing my comfort zone. Finally, I really appreciate the coaches (Jaime! Rudy! Erica!) for their patience and willingness to help me scale & modify the workouts as I’ve clawed my way back from a couple pretty significant injuries (none resulting from Crossfit!) over the last few years that I’ve been coming to 45 North. Dan has been a solid member of the 5:15 crew for the past two years. Always ready with a supportive comment or clever quip. Dan has returned after some significant injuries. He also uses his creativity and fitness to build an entire house (ask him about it, it’s really cool). Thank you for being part of 45 North, Dan!

Our athlete of the month (middle) !!! She has been working so hard and it shows! Getting stronger everyday! 💚 You can find her in the noon class with a big smile on her face. 😄 We love having her as part of our community 🖤

1) What brought you to 45 North?

I live down the road in Reeds Crossing, so convenience brought me to 45 North. And the community, friendliness and great workouts kept me here!
2) Favorite WOD or movement?

Back Squats & Box Jumps
3) Least Favorite?

Burpees
4) What do you love about Crossfit?

I love that there’s a mix of things like weight lifting, cardio and gymnastics! The workouts aren’t the same old thing every day so it’s never boring. The members and coaches are so nice & encouraging, and I love that I’m able to bring my baby with me if needed so I can get a workout in as a new mom! 💛

1) What brought you to 45 North?
I wanted to improve my strength. I tried a couple of classes at 45North and really liked the place and the coaches.

Box jumps and cleans

Community! I love the group workouts and the encouragement we give each other (especially the 6pm crew! ).
